My Travel nurse journey

I became a travel nurse in May 2021

Thankfully at the time by best friend was a travel nurse so all my questions were directed towards her! If you have some drop them in the comments below and I will add them to the FAQ!

How long does it take to become a travel nurse?

To become a nurse you can complete your 2-year ADN (associates degree in nursing), but a 4-year BSN (bachelors degree in nursing) is preferred gives you a step up when applying for jobs. Usually 1 year of experience in the specialty you are applying for is preferred, but make sure you’re confident in your skill set and able to hit the ground running with little to no orientation at your new job.

Are you a W-2 or 1099 employee?

I get a W-2 every year! But keep all your other documents such as contracts and receipts when taxes come up!

Do you choose where you want to work?

Yes! The company you work for will either have a job board where you can choose which ones you apply to, or a recruiter who will find the perfect job for you to apply to! Or both!
